CRITICAL CLEANING FOR FOOD SERVICE AND PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIES
Small floating particles of dirt and debris can be a problem in any critical operation, but they can be special problems in the food service and pharmaceutical
industries. Containers on a recently installed fill line required reliable cleanout and evacuation to meet stringent quality standards
without creating a housekeeping or worker health problem. The fill line terminated in an ultrasonic heat seal operation to fuse the ends of the metal
container. The manufacturer also had a secondary equipment problem because the ultrasonic horn used for the heat seal operation was maintained at a constant high line temperature.
SOLUTION: The manufacturer designed a new two-stage evacuation system - using (2) 901B Transvector Jets and (2) 3/32" diameter copper tubes.
SUMMARY: The 3/32" tubes were strategically positioned in the suction air stream tubing, providing
instantaneous blow out, evacuation and capture of contaminates from the container. The contaminates were piped
to a remote location to prevent worker injury or resettling of the particulate. The air flow from a 901 Transvector Jet
was used for controlled air flood cooling to prevent overheating and failure of the ultrasonic horn.
OTHER FOOD SERVICE APPLICATIONS
Large processor of packaged meats uses a 902 Transvector to blow off water tops of cans.
Producer of prepackaged diet food uses a 921-24 (24”) Curtain Transvector to strip the water from bags of processed foods after a wash down operation prior to assembly into cardboard boxes.
Bakery uses 208-15-H Vortex Tube to cool knife blades during pie and cake slicing operations to replace water mist cooling due to bacterial contamination problems.
